Simpson Nature Preserve

Loveland is home to the Simpson Nature Preserve, a remnant of Old Growth Forest. This natural treasure provides recreation opportunities for citizens, sequesters atmospheric carbon, mitigates storm water issues, and reduces erosion of steep hillsides.

The preserve has two access points:

  • On Wall Street across from the entrance to Kiwanis Park (240 Wall St.)
  • From the rear of Phillips Park (11667 Rich Road)
    • Near the basketball court at Phillips Park, you will find the Simpson Ridge Trail. This is a 0.42 round-trip path. The trail follows the wooded area of Simpson Nature Preserve, leading from Phillips Park to the entrance of Kiwanis Park.
