[ARCHIVED] Apply for Loveland U

Loveland U Class at Public Works

Enrollment is open for the 2024 Loveland U Citizens’ Leadership Academy.

Loveland U consists of 10 sessions held weekly from September through November. Each weekly session is hands-on with minimal lecture time. Participants will share feedback about issues, plans, and activities of the Loveland community.

“Whether you recently moved to Loveland or have lived here many years, Loveland U offers a behind-the-scenes look into the city’s structure and local organizations,” said Rob Weisgerber, Loveland U Director.

For instance, one session covers property rights versus community good as participants are challenged to review a case study about a proposed development. Likewise, another session gives an in-depth tour of the public works department to look at street plans, the water system, snowplows, and more.

The following is a tentative session list (subject to change):

  • Loveland Museum Center
  • Little Miami Conservancy
  • Loveland Planning & Zoning Dept.
  • Loveland-Symmes Fire Dept.
  • Loveland Police Dept.
  • Loveland Stage Company
  • Mock City Council Meeting
  • Loveland City Schools
  • Loveland Public Works Dept.
  • Loveland U Graduation

Applicants must be at least age 18 and live or work in the City of Loveland or be a member of a civic organization based in Loveland. Enrollment applications can be downloaded at http://lovelandoh.gov/365/Loveland-U and are due by June 30, 2024.
