Last year Josh Hasty, formerly of Loveland, chose to shoot a portion of his upcoming film, Candy Corn (2019), in our community. The residents of Wittenberg welcomed Josh back to shoot some scenes. The Candy Corn team is returning next Wednesday, November 21, for a final day of shooting on Scranton Court, a portion of Heidelberg Drive, and two brief closures of Cones Road to shoot some aerial scenes.
The Loveland Police Department worked closely with Josh's team to ensure the closures will respect our residents. The closures are from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will allow residents access to their homes. The Cones Road closures will avoid all "rush hour" times. Chief Rahe said, "We welcome Josh and his team back to Loveland. This is an exciting opportunity for our community. At the same time, we all wanted to ensure the impact was minimal to our residents. We spoke at length about shooting during the work day and shooting around rush hour. Josh's team was very flexible." The closures are planned when traffic is lightest and on a day when Loveland City Schools are closed. Candy Corn is sending a representative to begin contacting affected residents tomorrow so they are fully informed about the production.
A copy of the Road Closure Permit is available at the Loveland Police Department and will be on site during the closure. Anyone who has any questions or concerns about the closure should contact the Loveland Police Department at 513-583-3000 or email Chief Dennis Rahe at srahe@lovelandoh.gov.
