[ARCHIVED] Event & Parking Closures: Christmas Tree Lighting Festival

Tree Lighting

The 4th annual Christmas Tree Lighting Festival will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7. Large events such as this require temporary road closures and parking restrictions. The closures will be managed by on-duty law enforcement officers.

Anyone traveling downtown is asked to exercise caution due to the high volume of pedestrians crossing city streets.

Temporary Road Closures: Saturday, Dec. 7

The following road sections will be temporarily closed to traffic from approximately Noon to 9 p.m.:

  • West Loveland Avenue from Karl Brown Way to Second Street/State Route 48
  • Railroad Avenue from West Loveland Avenue to Harrison Avenue
  • Grear Millitzer Place from West Loveland Avenue to Harrison Avenue

 

Parking Restrictions: Saturday, Dec. 7

Parking will be restricted in some areas for event activities. Some or all parking spaces will be unavailable in the following locations:

  • On-street parking along West Loveland Avenue from Karl Brown Way to Second Street/State Route 48 
  • Railroad Avenue from West Loveland Avenue to Harrison Avenue (Near Paxton’s Grill)
  • Railroad Depot Lot (Public lot near Fleet Feet) 
  • Brown’s Crossing Lot (Private lot near Hops and Berry Taproom) 
  • Back portion of East Loveland Nature Preserve Lot

 

Free Parking

The city operates more than 10 free public lots. View parking map.

In addition, there are several private lots throughout Historic Downtown. Please note fees may be charged to park in these lots. 

 

Shuttle Transportation 

We encourage eventgoers to take advantage of FREE shuttle rides! Shuttles will run continuously from 3:45-8:30 p.m. The park-and-ride shuttle location will be at Shopper’s Haven (597 Loveland-Madeira Road). Eventgoers will be dropped off at Riverside Drive (near Veterans’ Memorial). Please note eventgoers will need to walk approx. 1-2 blocks to the festivities from the drop-off locations. The shuttles are not handicap-accessible.
