Did you know it takes almost 6 months to hire a police officer? The Loveland Police Department (LPD) has been conducting a hiring process since July, 2018. The first stage of its process includes a written and oral exam approved by the Loveland Civil Service Commission. This year LPD chose to partner with the National Testing Network to conduct it's written exam. Passing candidates, and lateral officers, then participated in an oral panel exam with LPD members, officers from neighboring agencies, and Loveland community members. The Loveland Civil Service Commission approved the top 19 candidates on September 11, 2018.

However, the approved eligibility list simply identifies who is eligible. LPD still has many additional steps for it's candidates. Additional steps typically include additional interviews, a background investigation, a truth verification test, a personality profile, a psychological interview, a physical exam, and a drug screen.

The approved eligibility list is included below. Candidates with questions about their scores should contact the LPD at 513-583-3000.
