Officer Michael Wright of the Loveland Police Department has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant. He took his oath of office, which was administered by Mayor Kathy Bailey, at Loveland City Council’s July 23 meeting.
Wright has served the citizens of Loveland since 2021. He has worked primarily as a patrol officer but has experience in investigations, field training, bike patrol, Spanish translation, and community relations. He is active in the department’s firearms program.
In 2023, Wright was awarded the Clarence “Cid” Caesar (Cincinnati P.D.) Award for Investigation Demonstrating Interagency Cooperation by the Hamilton County Police Association to recognize his work on a credit card skimmer case.
Additionally, in 2023, he received the Excellence in Service Award at the Annual Clermont County Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet.
During the promotion ceremony, Captain Dan Gangwer explained that LPD’s lieutenants are imperative for the department’s operation and act as first-line supervisors.
“Lt. Wright is a top-notch police officer. He understands the law enforcement and community aspects of the job. He has earned the respect of command, his coworkers, and citizens. He performs his job fantastically every day, and I don’t think we can hope for a better lieutenant than Mr. Wright,” Gangwer said.
Wright was joined by his family. He thanked LPD and said he is grateful for the opportunity to serve the Loveland community.
“I am fortunate to be part of a community that takes pride in its law enforcement. I am very excited to continue my career here in Loveland,” Wright stated.
Please help congratulate Lieutenant Wright!
