[ARCHIVED] Watercolor Exhibit Begins June 13 at Loveland City Hall

Artwork by the Watercolor Guild of Loveland will soon be on display at Loveland City Hall.

In early 2024, a gallery space was installed at City Hall, 120 W Loveland Ave. The gallery is rotated seasonally and features local artists.

The latest exhibit opens June 13 with a reception from 6-8 p.m. Approximately 30 watercolor paintings will be showcased representing Loveland scenes (including the Loveland Frogman!), landscapes, abstracts, florals and more.

“The Watercolor Guild is a band of artists, currently 20-plus strong. They have evolved from beginner status to exhibiting their work publicly. Every student has grown in confidence and expertise.  Their enthusiasm is boundless, showing up to class with imagination and a thirst to learn new techniques,” said Terry Vorhees, guild instructor. Vorhees graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP) program and teaches watercolor classes at her Loveland studio.

The exhibit will run through Aug. 14. On this day from 6-8 p.m., the Watercolor Guild invites the public to a painting class. The class will teach several watercolor techniques, and supplies will be provided. Register by July 31 — class size is limited!

In addition, the exhibit will be a stop along the Loveland Art Gallery Crawl taking place June 22 from 4-8 p.m. During this free event, attendees can view local art at 14 venues across the city, including seven art galleries.

Visit the gallery at City Hall, 120 W. Loveland Ave., during lobby hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. If you are interested in purchasing a painting, would like to contact an artist or take a watercolor class, please contact Terry Voorhees at tv@cinci.rr.com.  If you are wishing to purchase artwork, please send Terry the name of the artist and the title of the work.  Prints are also available on most pieces.
