Improving walkability in the city is a goal of the city’s 2022 Comprehensive Master Plan, and residents will begin seeing new sidewalk connections.
- As part of a multi-phase project, new sidewalks were added along the east side of Loveland-Miamiville Road from State Route 48/Oakland Road to Sugar Tree Lane in 2023. In 2024, Phase II of this project extended sidewalks from Sugar Tree Line to Saddleback Drive. A water main replacement is also part of Phase II. In 2025, Phase III will connect to Huntington Drive. Once complete, sidewalks will connect three neighborhoods to two schools and Historic Downtown.
- City Council awarded a contract to add sidewalks along East Loveland Avenue from the nature preserve to the new Clermont County park located on the Grail Property. Similarly, funding efforts are underway to connect the other side of the new Clermont County park with the White Pillars neighborhood — sidewalks are proposed along State Route 48/ Oakland Road.
- The city has been awarded a $77K grant to install sidewalks along Osage Drive to connect Tuscorora Drive and West Loveland Avenue. This will connect a large portion of the Loveland Heights to business districts, as well as Loveland High School. Construction will begin in Spring/Summer 2025.
- The city has been awarded a $2-million grant from ODOT to construct sidewalks from Blossom View Drive to Butterworth Road. In addition, the city received a $761K grant from OKI to extend the sidewalks down Butterworth Road to Butterworth Glen. This will be known as the State Route 48/Butterworth Road Sidewalk Project, which will connect the city's Warren County residents to the heart of downtown. In total, more than 400 homes in the Warren County portion of the city will be linked to downtown. Besides Butterworth Glen, the subdivisions of Hermitage Pointe, Sentry Hill, Chimney Ridge, and Brandywine will be linked. Additionally, the sidewalks also will benefit residents of Loveland Health Care. Engineering and design for the project began in 2024. Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2028.
- The Loveland-Madeira Road Corridor Revitalization Project will include pedestrian connections to the Stoneybrook neighborhood, River Ridge Apartments, Deer Creek Apartments, and beyond.
