At the May 23 City Council meeting, Pastor Jonathan Eilert was sworn in as the Loveland Police Department’s new chaplain.
In this voluntary position, Eilert’s role will be to offer support and counseling for LPD employees, their families, and citizens in times of stress or struggle.
“It’s important to have a person in this role who can build trusting relationships,” stated Chief Michael Gabrielson.
Eilert has served in the ministry for 25 years. For the last 17 years, he has served at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Loveland. Locally, he volunteers his time with the Loveland LIFE Food Pantry, Loveland High School Show Choir, Loveland High School drama department, and Loveland Board of Education.
“I thank Chief Gabrielson for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to offering my assistance to our community,” Eilert said.
