[ARCHIVED] Gas Inspection Notice

Duke gas meter stock

The City of Loveland has been informed that Duke Energy, working through its contractor (Southern Cross), is performing Leak Surveys and Atmospheric Corrosion Inspections within the community. This is a regulatory compliance program, which requires Duke Energy’s technicians to periodically survey underground facilities, including gas mains and services, and to perform a visual check of gas meters.

Contractors will be performing this work at various locations across the City of Loveland from now through Dec. 31, 2022. Duke Energy contractors will carry a Duke Energy badge and leak detection equipment and will be in the field during daylight hours (approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).

Customers do NOT need to be home during these inspections as no entry into the residence is required. Should the contractor need to survey any facilities that would require entrance to a locked gate, they may attempt to make contact with the customer to gain access.
