The Loveland-Symmes Fire Department has been awarded a Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant for emergency equipment and training.
"We have been very blessed in our grants over the past several years. This allows us to keep the local mileage low and stretch out our public safety levies, all while keeping service level high," said Fire Chief Otto Huber.
The federal grant is for $202,500 with the City of Loveland and Symmes Township each providing a 10% local match. The grant will fund the following:
- $60,000 Paramedic Training
- $120,000 for Heart Monitors for Ladder Trucks
- $7,500 for Thermal Imaging Cameras
