Loveland Youth Baseball will host the Little League 11U Ohio State Tournament July 23-28, 2022.
The state tournament for Ohio takes place each July on a rotating basis across Little League Districts across the state. Loveland will host District 9 for boys, ages 9-11. Approximately 8 to 12 teams from across Ohio will visit Loveland for a week of competition.
Board President Mike Wagner explains: “For perspective, there is nothing beyond the State Tournament for 11U, but at 12U the winner moves on to the Midwest Regional Tournament, and the winner of that moves on to the Little League World Series that you see on TV every August.”
Sound familiar? You're not imagining it. At this time last year, there was much media buzz in the Cincinnati region about the Little League World Series. That's because the 12U team from Hamilton, Ohio, qualified!
But — back to the present — games will be played at Home of the Brave Park in Symmes Township. Out-of-town players and their families will be encouraged to visit Loveland restaurants, shops, and parks for off-the-field activities.
Coincidentally, the City of Loveland kicks off its Movie in the Park series on Saturday, July 23 with a baseball-themed movie: The Sandlot. The event will take place at Phillips Park (11667 Rich Road, Loveland 45140). All ages are invited for pre-show fun including a raffle, dunk tank, games, food truck, ice cream truck, and more beginning at 7 p.m. Then watch the movie under the stars, sitting on the baseball field!
