At the April 24 City Council meeting, representative from the Loveland Symmes Fire Department (LSFD) donated $11,600 to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. The funding was a result of the department's annual Fill The Boot Drives which were held on April 21, 2018 and August 12, 2017. LSFD Captain Bruce Hawk stated, "The
willingness of our community to support such an important cause is truly
amazing. The Firefighter Cancer Support Network will be able to provide
assistance to many firefighters battling cancer because of these generous and
selfless donations."
