Know a kid who wants to be a police officer or who has an interest in law enforcement?
The Loveland Police Department has announced the Junior Police Academy is scheduled for May 31-June 3, 2022, at Miami Meadows Park. This program is coordinated by a combination of Miami Township, City of Milford, Goshen Township, and City of Loveland officers. Together, they plan and host a fun and educational week of law enforcement activities.
Participants will experience activities like:
- Fingerprinting/crime scene investigation
- Shooting a taser
- Self-defense and handcuff training
- Impaired driver course in police golf carts
- Mock traffic stops using police cars
- Search warrant and room clearing exercises
- Air Care helicopter tour
- Drone demo
- Police K-9 demo
- Airsoft marksmanship
The Junior Police Academy is open to students ages 13-16 with acceptable school attendance and grades. The program is free; in addition, breakfast and lunch are provided each day.
