The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the City of Loveland, Ohio, its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for fiscal year 2021.
The award is considered a significant achievement amongst government entities, reflecting the commitment of city staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
To receive the budget award, the city had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well the city’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device. In these four categories, budget documents must be rated "proficient.” Additionally, within each category, there are 14 mandatory criteria that must be met to receive the award.
On behalf of the city’s Finance Department, Director of Finance Mark Medlar accepted a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation from the GFOA.
