[ARCHIVED] Loveland Police Welcome New Officer

The Loveland Police Department (LPD) has hired a new police officer, Michael Wright. Wright was sworn into office at the July 27 Loveland City Council meeting.

Wright comes to Loveland from the Pigeon Forge (Tennessee) Police Department, where he worked 4.5 years. Prior to that, he worked 2.5 years with the US Department of State as a Diplomatic Security Officer. 

“I am fortunate to be a part of a community that takes immense pride in creating a family environment,” said Wright. “I look forward to meeting with homeowners, businesses, and all the people that make Loveland a wonderful place to live and visit.”

Wright's background is mainly in patrol work. He also has experience in investigations, SWAT, protective detail, officer instruction, Spanish translation, and community relations. Wright holds a Master’s in Justice Administration from the University of the Cumberlands.
