[ARCHIVED] Help 'Stuff-a-Cruiser'

Stuff a Cruiser

The Loveland Police Department (LPD) and Loveland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (LCPAAA) are sponsoring the 9th annual “Stuff-a-Cruiser” event Saturday, July 17 to fill the shelves of LIFE Food Pantry.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Loveland Kroger, 800 Loveland-Madeira Road. Residents are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food donations to literally stuff a police cruiser full! All donations will be given to LIFE Food Pantry, 541 Loveland-Madeira Road, for distribution.

“Summer is traditionally a slow time for donations at the pantry with vacations and different routines. With kids at home, and not receiving breakfast and lunch at school, that means greater demand at the pantry with dwindling supplies on their shelves,” said Peggy Goodwin, LCPAAA President.

Suggested donations include canned beef stew, canned spaghetti sauce, canned Spaghetti-Os, Sloppy Joe sauce, canned pineapple, baked beans, chicken/beef broth, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, macaroni and cheese, Rice-a-Roni, potato side dishes, Hamburger Helper, mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, coffee, single-serving/shelf-stable milk, Ensure/Boost, flour, sugar, and seasoning packets. Cleaning products like dish soap, paper towels and laundry detergent are also needed.

Kroger gift cards and cash donations will also be accepted. These allow pantry volunteers to shop for needed food and supplies later.

“If Saturday isn’t a convenient time, consider shopping earlier in the week. Then just drive up to drop off your donation,” said Goodwin. “It’s all about taking care of our friends and neighbors who may need a bit of a helping hand.”

LIFE (Loveland Interfaith Effort) Food Pantry is a faith-based organization that provides food, financial assistance, and services to needy residents within the 45140 zip code.
