Have you seen the new fountains in Downtown Loveland?
Two garden fountains were installed along Sweetheart Lane in June. The fountains were donated by the Loveland-Symmes Firefighters’ Association (LSFA).
“The association has always tried to give as much back as possible to the community that we serve,” said Mike Books, association vice president.
Sweetheart Lane (the portion of the bike path between West Loveland Avenue and East Broadway Street, adjacent to Jackson Street Market) was constructed in 2017 and pays tribute to Loveland’s Valentine Ladies, local women who are recognized for serving the community. Many of the Valentine Ladies were the mothers of firefighters and always supportive of the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department.
The Sweetheart Lane project, and many other hometown projects, are funded by the firefighters’ association. LSFA is a non-profit that works year-round to raise funds to supplement the department, as well as community services.
One of the LSFA’s 2021 fundraisers include the Rails, Trails and Ales concerts taking place at the Jackson Street Market (116 Karl Brown Way). Concerts are held from 7-10 p.m. and are free to the public. Beer and wine sales support the LSFA’s community fund. Mark your calendar for these upcoming concerts, and be sure to check out the new fountains when you’re there!
