At Tuesdays City Council meeting, Loveland Symmes Fire Department Chief, Otto Huber was on hand to present to Mayor, Kathy Bailey and City Council, a memento of their recent receipt of an ISO 1 rating. Chief Huber explained that this is the most prestigious ISO level that any community can achieve.
ISO is an independent organization that evaluates fire protection efforts in communities across the country. The organization collects information on communities and analyzes the data using its Fire Suppression Rating Schedule. Fire services are ranked between 1 and 10, with 1 as the highest level a community can receive.
Chief Huber thanked his crew and staff for their dedication to reaching this accomplishment, and he also thanked the elected officials for their support to the department. Mayor Kathy Bailey stated, “The Class 1 ISO rating will rank our Fire Department as one of only 383 Fire Departments in the U.S. that have achieved this prestigious rating. I speak for all of city council and our residents when I say we are incredibly proud of the commitment to excellence our firefighters display every day in protecting our community.”
