[ARCHIVED] City Appoints New Director of Finance

Mark Medlar Swearing In (2)

At the December 15, 2020 City Council meeting, Mayor Kathy Bailey issued the oath of office to the city's new Director of Finance, Mark Medlar.  Mark, who was hired by the City Manager, began his employment with the city on December 14.  Mayor Bailey stated that as hard as it is to see retiring Director of Finance, Michelle Byrde leave us, she feels that the city has made a solid selection with Mr. Medlar. Kathy added "We are happy to have Mark join our team, and we are confident that he will follow the long line of Directors of Finance which have served this city with award winning budgeting and financial management."

Mark comes to the city via Butler County where he oversaw all financial functions of their water and sewer departments. Mark also served as a Management Analyst for the City of Cincinnati, where he provided financial analysis for city departments. Mark’s wife Heather and his two boys, Evan and Timothy were in attendance for the ceremony, and Mark thanked them all for their support.
