Council in Brief 

Local artist Kate Albert presented the City a print of her painting of the City of Loveland.  The print is on display in the lobby of City Hall and will be available for purchase at Whistle Stop Clay Works’ Annual Pottery Affaire on Saturday, September 12.

Minutes from the August 28, 2020, City Council meeting were approved.

City Council adopted legislation authorizing the City Manager to secure a zero percent loan from the Ohio Public Works Commission to complete the Maimiview Drive Culvert Project. 

A 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe, and a 2007 GMC utility van were declared as surplus inventory and will be sold on GovDeals.com.  

A resolution authorizing the City execute an amended and restated Warren County Drug Task Force Council of Government Contract was adopted.

Council authorized the purchase of two Stryker LIFEPAK 15 heart monitors/defibrillators to be used by the Loveland Symmes Fire Department.

A resolution was adopted authorizing an agreement with Donovan Energy for improvements to the City Hall and Public Works facilities for the installation of touchless LED electrical lighting equipment using funds from the CARES Act Relief Funds Local Government Assistance Program.

Ordinances were introduced to amend the City’s zoning text for retail warehousing and to amendment the Loveland Historic Preservation Regulations.  The second reading and vote for these ordinances will occur at the September 22 City Council meeting.

Council authorized the City Manager to make a presentation on September 22 regarding proposed modifications to the City’s water rate structure.

A public hearing was scheduled for September 22 for the lease the City’s Bronner Garage, located 210 Harrison Avenue.  

A second public hearing was scheduled for October 13 and pertains to a zoning map amendment request for land located on North Second Street.  If approved, the zoning would change from Residential - Medium Density (R-MD) to Residential - Multi-Family (R-MF).

City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 7:00 p.m.  The meetings are held at City Hall, 120 W. Loveland Avenue, and are open to the public. Meetings are live streamed on the City’s website, and a video recording of the meeting is posted on the website after the meeting. Meeting agendas and supporting documentation are posted on the City’s website prior to each meeting.
