On Tuesday Mayor Bailey and the Loveland City Council recognized Lieutenant Jose Alejandro for his 26 years of service in the Loveland Police Department (LPD). Lieutenant Alejandro retired from the Loveland Police Department (LPD) on September 26, 2019. Lieutenant Alejandro joined the LPD in 1993. Jose served in several vital roles including bike patrol, field trainer, bike patrol supervisor, K-9 handler, K-9 supervisor, and fleet supervisor.
Chief Rahe stated that “Jose’s most profound impact was bringing the K-9 program to the community”. Today Loveland enjoys the services of a K-9 program that was built from scratch with each dog being obtained without funding from the City due to Jose’s countless hours of volunteer time in establishing relationships with the Matt Haverkamp Foundation.
Mayor Bailey expressed her sincere appreciation for Lieutenant Alejandro and the years of service he gave to the community as he will both be missed and remembered.
