A new art gallery highlighting Loveland artists has debuted at Loveland City Hall.
The city’s Arts Commission has created a gallery space, which will be rotated seasonally and feature local artists. The mounting system can display approximately 30 pieces of art, and the commission plans to feature work across different mediums.
The first display features a collection of photography from the Loveland High School (LHS) Art Department. The artists are enrolled in Photography I or are members of the Varsity Photo Squad, a group of students that document LHS athletics and extracurriculars.
The gallery features images of players and fans at sporting events, musical performances, and nature landscapes like waterfalls and foliage.
“Some of the selected photos capture the colors of the fall season. In other photos, students practiced the slow shutter effect to capture the movement of water,” explained Jim Barrett, LHS instructor and Art Department chair.
Visit the gallery at City Hall, 120 W. Loveland Ave., during lobby hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
