[ARCHIVED] LPD Welcomes New Officer

Walt Griffith Swearing In

Officer Walt Griffith was sworn in as the newest member of the Loveland Police Department (LPD). He officially was introduced at the City Council meeting on Jan. 9, 2024.

Loveland Mayor Kathy Bailey administered the oath of office to Griffith.

“We feel we have a very special community in Loveland and a special police department. The department has the full support of City Council and the community,” stated Bailey as she welcomed Griffith to the city. 

Griffith began his law enforcement career in 2011. He has served as a patrol officer, detective, SWAT member, and as a member of the Brown County Drug and Major Crime Task Force. Additionally, Griffith has served the Georgetown Fire Department since 2003. He has worked his way through the ranks as a firefighter cadet, firefighter, and now lieutenant firefighter.
