[ARCHIVED] Firefighters Association Donates $15k to Charity

The Loveland-Symmes Firefighters Association donated $15k to the Karen Wellington Foundation (KWF). During Loveland City Council’s Nov. 28 meeting, Chief Huber of the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department presented a check on “Giving Tuesday.”

In honor of Cancer Awareness Month every October, the association hosts fundraisers in the community. This year, they hosted Fill-a-Boot and Dine with a Firefighter campaigns to collect donations.

“Cancer is an evil disease. The last couple of years we have chosen the Karen Wellington Foundation as a local charity who brings smiles to those affected by cancer,” Huber explained.

On behalf of the association, Huber thanked Deputy Chief Frye and Captain Ellis, the Fill-a-Boot leaders, as well as all LSFD members who participated in the fundraisers.
