On Tuesday, June 11, 2019 during City Council meeting, Officer Alex Burnett was sworn into office by Mayor Kathy Bailey. Chief Rahe introduced Officer Burnett by stating that he immigrated to the United States from Russia in 2001. Officer Burnett joined the United States Marines thereafter and was deployed to Iraq in 2004. After a seven-month deployment he was assigned to a reconnaissance training where he was deployed to Iraq a second time with a scout team. After four years of service, Alex was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. Alex put himself through the police academy and was hired by the Ohio State Highway Patrol where he served for the past seven years. Mayor Bailey expressed that the City of Loveland is fortunate to recruit an officer with the level of experience and training that Officer Burnett brings with him. Alex will undoubtedly be a noteworthy addition to the Loveland Police Department.
